Holy Heck Fashion Week: Riddle Me This

I'm a bit ashamed at how at home I felt during the Riddle Me This Show at NZFW - I am obviously a child of the 90's through and through.

To be honest, I don't even really know what I can say about this collection, apart from the fact that it was probably one of my favourite collections at any New Zealand Fashion Week ever. Sitting beside that runway I was literally speechless because I could not believe how good it was!

Holy Heck Fashion Week: Cybele Owns at NZFW

Holy moley New Zealand Fashion Week was so good this year! Chances are you've already seen pictures and video's via the lovely interweb, however I do feel obligated to once again tell you how good it was - the general message being, it was VERY good. One particularly goodness filled part of this VERY good week was the Cybele show, featuring her A/W 13 collection, Nocturne.

Although I kicked off the week as part of the backstage team at Cybele, I have no problem unbiasedly acknowledging the fact that this collection was beautiful. Seriously, I want to buy the whole thing! While backstage I constantly found myself running over to models to 'check' the styling - little did they know I had just spotted a pretty garment that I really just wanted a closer look at.

Just incase . . .

Just incase you haven't quite forgiven me yet, here is a picture of a unicorn to make you feel all happy inside. Well, truly it is just a horse with a horn attached to it's poor wee head, but that it beside the point.  13,000 reblogs on tumblr do not lie; this fake unicorn has got it going on.

If you like this sort of thing, check out my tumblr here for more pretty pictures and fake unicorns galore.

Hello, I am crap. Please don't hate me. . .

The title pretty much says it all - I am a crappo and a mega tease, I know. I leave you all for months and then come back declaring that I will never again leave you. Nek minnit, I am gone - and you are too. And if you weren't already gone, the fact that I just said 'nek minnit' will sure be more than enough to drive you away.

To cut to the chase, the main message I am trying to portray is: I am sorry. I love you. Baby come back to meeee. It is Spring after all! A time for new beginnings. A time for little lambies to be born and for the sun to remerge from it's winter cave. How can you possibly be angry at me when the sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and New Zealand Fashion Week is just two (yes TWO) days away?

Pretty little places: San Cristobal de la Casas, Mexico

Pretty little place #3.

I know what you are thinking - but yes, Mexico is very pretty actually! Contrary to popular belief, there is actually a lot more to Mexico than sombreo's, tequila and mostache-ladden drug lords who run around murdering people left, right and centre.

To be honest, Mexico is one of the most beautiful and friendly places that I have ever had the pleasure of visiting, and as long as you stay away from the border [of Mexico and the U.S] it is actually super safe (and cheap!) to travel around.

'Precious' by Deadly Ponies

So I know it's no diamond ring, but if somebody proposed to me with the Bow Ring by Deadly Ponies, I would probably have to say yes due to the fact that I have a major crush on this baby right now. I probably wouldn't say no to the Rope Ring either. Unemployed people such as myself can't be picky I suppose!

'Precious' is the name of Deadly Ponies most recent (and decent) jewellery collection. Named for the fact that pieces in the collection are crafted from precious materials such as bone, gold and silver, the collection draws inspiration from twisted fairy tales and mourning jewellery from the Victorian ages.

Pretty little places: Bottega Louie, Los Angeles

Pretty little place #2. Here we go.

I'm not going to lie, downtown Los Angeles is not my favourite place in the world. Over all it's smelly, dirty and actually a wee bit dangerous. But ask any LA native about the best place to satisfy your sweet tooth and the answer will be unanimous - downtown Los Angeles may be a bit shabby, but downtown's Bottega Louie is most definitely a diamond in the rough.
